Two Klickitat County residents were taking by Life Flight to Emanual Hospital in Portland following two separate accidents which occurred on Sunday and Monday.

On Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, 17-year-old Andrea D. Clark, White Salmon, was injured in an accident on State Route 141 near milepost 4.95. The accident occurred at approximately 9:55 a.m.

According to the report, Clark was driving her 1994 Ford van northbound on SR 141 when she lost control. The vehicle went into the right hand ditch, crossing both north and south lanes. The vehicle then went over a 20 foot embankment and struck an abandoned vehicle in a yard.

Clark was transported by ambulance to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon and then flown by Life Flight to Portland.

On Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, 50-year-old Goldendale resident Melvin J. Sanders was involved in a one-vehicle accident on SR 142 near milepost 29.1. The accident occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m.

According to the report, Sanders' 1993 Toyota pickup went off the roadway, rolling the driver. He was taken by Life Flight from the scene.
