Primary election day was Sept. 16, but there was not much on the ballot in either Klickitat County or Skamania County.
In Klickitat County, only one precinct -- Wishram -- had a primary race on the ballot.That was for a seat on the Wishram School District Board.
Three candidates were competing for one position. Unofficially, the election results were as follows, according to the Klickitat County Auditor's Office:
Kaye Gasper: 14 votes, 14.74 percent;
Nicki Beer: 21 votes, 22.11 percent;
Jeanne Simi: 58 votes, 61.05 percent.
There were also two write-in votes, representing 2.11 percent of the total.
If the election results hold up -- it is still possible more ballots will arrive in the mail -- Simi and Beer will appear on the ballot in a two-way race in November.
In unofficial results from Skamania County, voters in the Home Valley Water District approved a proposition that would authorize the district to levy excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, upon all taxable property within the district for support of the district's general fund maintenance and capital improvement expenses.
The resolution, approved by a wide margin, called for an approximate levy rate of 51 cents per $1,000 of assessed value in the 2004-2005 collection years.
There were 63 "Yes" voters (84 percent) and 12 "No" voters (16 percent).
The election will be certified on Sept. 26.
