Stevenson gallery features first show

Works of Bonnie White and Michael Scrivens to be on display

The Avenue Gallery, opened in January of 2004, by Gretchen L'Hommedieu (Stevenson) and Kay Hoodenpyl (Glenwood), is hosting its first Artist's Reception this Friday night, April 9, from 5 to 8 p.m, featuring the work of Bonnie White (Husum) and Michael Scrivens (Stevenson).

The public is cordially invited to attend.

White's work consists of landscapes and other samples of country life in transparent watercolor. She has been showing her work for the past eight years and has won awards in several juried shows throughout the Gorge. Her work is currently featured on the 2004 Columbia Gorge Master Gardener Calendar and March's issue of "Country Pleasures" magazine.

Scriven's work consists of wheel thrown terra cotta pieces, glazed high relief tiles set in hand crafted cast frames, and colorful salmon plaques. Michael has been showing his work for 30-plus years at such places as Portland's Saturday Market, craft fairs, and juried trade shows. He won"Best of Show" at the 1989 Art Quake; Oregon Potters Association Ceramic Showcase "Best of Show" in 1990; and in 1990 he also received the Jurors Award from the Bellevue Pacific Northwest Arts and Crafts Fair.

The Avenue Gallery is proud to represent these two local artists and would like to encourage the public to come in and see their work. The show will be up until May 9.
