Congratulations to Nick and Georgie Kokos for qualifying to represent Glenwood Schools at this year's honor band. Nick played the saxophone and Georgie played the clarinet as they participated in the annual event held in Goldendale in mid March. Glenwood's music teacher Debbie Allaway, accompanied by the Kokos children, helped various musicians practice. Students from five or six schools participated in the daylong event that culminated in a combined concert at 7 p.m. According to Georgie, "It was fun, and definitely a good place to make friends."
Members of the 2004 Glenwood prom court were announced before spring vacation. Princesses are Kayleigh King, Candi Kuhnhausen, Josie Masden, Hannah Page, and Stacie Williams. The male side of the court includes Tanner Beeks, Zach Buckley, Tony Leiter, Trent Steinbach, and Mitch Wheelhouse. This year's theme is "Mystic Dreams," and the prom will be held at The Ballroom in The Dalles on Saturday, April 24, from 8 p.m. to midnight. As in the past, Glenwood will unite with Klickitat, Lyle, Trout Lake and Wishram for a combined prom. Each school has selected a prom court, and will crown their own king and queen during the annual dance.
The Glenwood School Board will convene for its monthly session on April 15, at 7 p.m.
The Mt. Adams Community 4-H leaders will meet Wednesday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m., followed by a community 4-H members meeting at 7 p.m. at the school. The groups will be planning upcoming 4-H projects and events.
