At 35th annual golf fundraiser

Husband-wife team captures top honors

Husband-and-wife Don and Heidi Struck won low gross honors during last Saturday's Mt. Adams Elks Francis E. Logan Memorial Mixed Chapman Golf Tournament.

The 35th annual event, held at Husum Hills Golf Course, was a fundraiser for the Klickitat School District's athletic fund.

The Strucks, of White Salmon, combined for an 18-hole round of one-over-par 71, shooting 32 on the front nine and 39 on the way back.

Low net score in the `A' Flight of competition went to Don and Ginger London of White Salmon. They collaborated on a best-ball score of 58.

The teams of Gail Larsen, The Dalles, and Nicole Jefferson, Portland, and Kim Larsen, Portland, and Don Larsen, White Salmon, tied for second at 59.

In the `B' Flight, husband-and-wife Rudy and Keren Dierickx, White Salmon, teamed up to match Bill Muncey and Colleen Connolly, both White Salmon, shot for shot. The two teams shared first place at 58.

Playing partners Larry and Bunny Windom, White Salmon, finished one shot back at 59.

The Calloway Division saw a four-way tie for first among Steve and Sheila London, White Salmon; Dave and Christine Pfister, White Salmon; Mike and Kathy Gilderhus, White Salmon; and Jim and Wanda Mansfield, Husum.

Other prizes went to Adrian (Ace) Palmer, White Salmon, men's longest drive; Roger Miller, White Salmon, men's closest to the pin; Kim Larsen, women's longest drive; and Kathy Gilderhus, women's closest to the pin.
