Report for the Washington State Patrol

Icy conditions caused a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at approximately 10:40 a.m. on State Route 97 at milepost 22.

According to the report, Kerry F. Bearg, 28, Oakdale, Calif., was driving his 1992 Ford Explorer northbound on SR 97. A 1996 Kenworth semi driven by Kevin R. Godes, 46, Colville, was heading southbound on SR 97. The Ford Explorer slid on the ice into the southbound lane, colliding with the semi. The Explorer came to rest in the northbound ditch. The semi went onto the southbound shoulder and its trailer blocked the north and southbound lanes.

Both the Explorer and the semi's trailer were totaled in the accident.
