Students exhibit in art competition

Winners from Henkle Middle and Columbia High schools named

The Dalles Art Center is currently exhibiting the works of 275-plus students from throughout the Mid Columbia region in the annual Mid Columbia Middle & High School Juried Art Competition.

A closing reception and awards ceremony will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, from 3-4 p.m..

The Judges' Choice awards went to Milla K. Caldwell, Henkle Middle School and Rose Kelter, Hood River Valley High School. Everyone is welcome to stop by to vote for their favorites for the Peoples' Choice awards.

Award winners from Henkle Middle School were-- first place: Lisl Stadler, Kristie Morris, Claire Stevenson, and Rachel Connolly; second place: Kayla Fortanel-Breedlove, Bonita Groeneveld, Lisa Denny, Ty Plummer, Milla K Caldwell, and Lauren Kelly; third place: Jose Castaneda, Adam Wooster, Tim Newell, Tate Peterson, Ivy Barajas, Tasha Campbell, Crystal Spring, and Austin Rudhe; honorable mention: Amber Phillips, Michelle McMillen and Lacey Delahant.

Columbia High School award winners were -- second place: Ashley Chantelle St. George and Britta Knutson; third place: Okoree Peyralans; honorable mention: Wells Stevenson and Maricela Ceballos.

Chris Smith from Trout Lake also earned honorable mention.
