Planning Department reviews Trout Lake zone change plan

Deadline for appeals is Jan. 16

The Klickitat County Planning Department is considering a project zone change from "extensive agriculture" to "rural residential" and a comprehensive plan change from "ag-forest" to "rural residential" on 40 acres, in the Trout Lake vicinity at the corner of Jennings Road.

The applicants on the proposal are Kerry and Kathy Elmer of Vancouver.

According to the application, plans call for "possible platting creating 11 lots if rezone is approved."

The proposal is scheduled for a public hearing before the Klickitat County Planning Commission on Feb. 17. Comments received by the Planning Department before Feb. 5 will be incorporated into the staff review.

The Klickitat County Planning Department has issued a "determination of non-significance" (DNS) for the project, which means that the Planning Department has determined that the proposal "does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment."

The deadline for appeals on the proposal is Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. Contact the Planning Department at 228 W. Main Street, MS: CH-17, Goldendale, Wash., 98620.
