The Klickitat County Health Department will provide fluoride-varnishing treatments the first Thursday of each month.
The $15 treatments are recommended and available for anyone, but for children they are imperative to life long dental health.
"The main thing is to harden the teeth and fight cavities," said Melissa Hunziker, health department.
Hunziker recommends that the treatments happen a few times each year noting that "it doesn't hurt." Besides keeping cavities at bay, the varnish can slow the growth of existing cavities, she said.
