Law enforcement officers have arrested an alleged suspect in an assault case that put Christopher J. Trosper, an Underwood resident, in the hospital.
According to the report from the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department, the assault occurred on Saturday, May 29. At 10:15 p.m., officers from the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department, the Klickitat County Sheriff's Office, and the Skamania County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported assault with a knife in the 300 block of West Franklin Street in downtown Bingen.
Officers found Trosper, 24, at a residence with injuries caused by a knife. He was transported to Providence Hood River Hospital in Hood River for medical treatment.
Police identified the alleged suspect in the assault as Raymond A. Schadewitz, 25, of White Salmon.
Sgt. Bruce Brending said a felony warrant for the arrest of Schadewitz was issued by the Klickitat County Prosecutor's Office. The charge is assault in the first degree.
Schadewitz was arrested in The Dalles early Tuesday, June 8. He was taken to the Northern Oregon Detention Center in The Dalles.
