Report for the Washington State Patrol and Oregon State Patrol

An 18-month-old child was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Sunday at approximately 5:46 p.m. on State Route 142 near milepost 27/Spring Creek Road.

According to the report, Jose N. Rodriquez, 37, Prosser, was driving his 1994 Honda eastbound on SR 142. The driver told troopers he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway to the south, rolled over and came to rest on its top 15 feet off the roadway.

Rodriquez was not injured in the accident. A passenger in the vehicle -- 18-month-old Faith Rodriquez, Prosser, was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles and treated for lacerations to the face and shoulder.

The child was in a seatbelt.

State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 near milepost 96.

When troopers arrived at the scene, they determined that the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Express van fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to drift off of the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to come back across both lanes of traffic and strike the center divider. This caused the vehicle to rollover onto its passenger side.

The passenger of the vehicle, Joyce Ann Pratt, age 42, was extricated by Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue and pronounced dead at Mid Columbia Medical Center at 5:35 p.m. The driver, Delbert Wendall Pratt, age 77, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

All parties involved were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor.

The Wasco County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation, The Dalles office, assisted at the scene.
