Congratulations to the seniors who graduated on Friday, June 11. Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves as they saw those creative and intelligent students receive their awards. You are our future. This summer will be busy with everyone working toward their goals. Some will vacation with their friends and family. Enjoy.
We also wish to congratulate the eighth-graders who are entering high school in the fall of 2004. Have a wonderful summer time. High school can be a challenge. Trout Lake School is among the best.
Speaking of the school: 65 students in grades K-12 participated in the Spring 2004 Reading Challenge that ran April 2 through June 4.
The students started out with a goal of reading 35,000 minutes. In actuality, they ended up reading nearly three times that many minutes: 98,000.
Elementary school students who took part in the reading challenge were rewarded with a field trip to the Portland Zoo. Students in grades 7-12 earned a rafting trip down the White Salmon River with Zoller's Outdoor Odysseys.
Cookie Gilpatrick has been working on her gym. She said that soon Nena Pochna will be teaching yoga there. Nena has practiced and taught yoga for over 20 years. Stay tuned or call Cookie at (509) 395-2468 for more details.
