Trout Lake Community Council is taking the annual summer break, with no regularly scheduled meeting in July or August. However, special meetings can and have been called if there is a need. Anyone can call Jim White, chair, to schedule a meeting.

At the last two council meetings, considerable attention has been paid to the upcoming Phoenix Festival, which is planned for July 2-5 at Pat and Mary Morris' B&B on Jennings Road. Concerns of various sorts have been aired. Clearly many people in Trout Lake and elsewhere will be watching closely. Let us hope for safety and tranquillity.

The fair plans are steaming along -- thank you Ray Thygessen and all the other volunteers. People are needed for some activities. Call Ray if you want to pitch in. I think the talent show is on Friday night -- where we can all be stars. Will we have our marching lawnmowers again for the parade? The veggie and flower displays can use some help with set up and judging. Call Pat Arnold, 395-2233.

Pat Arnold, your humble newswriter, presently mired down in cherry season, which is going very well in Wenatchee despite rains and hail, but badly in Pasco and Othello because of rain and hail. Growing cherries is not for the faint of heart.
