It's the Ides of March. Spring is in the air! The daffodils are beginning to bloom. The tulips are stretching their leaves toward the sky, the lilacs are beginning to show signs of leaves budding and all is right in our little world of Klickitat here as the last week of winter rolls to a close. Whew! We made it! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm very happy about the sunshine coming through my windows in the morning these days. The dormant promises hidden by the winter snows are finally awakening. It's time to get out your rakes, gang!
Attention: The deadline for returning the community needs assessment survey recently mailed out attached to the monthly school newsletter has been extended. For those who have already responded, thank you.
If you don't have a copy of the survey, you can pick one up at the school during regular hours. Also, additional copies will be made available at the next Klickitat Community Council meeting on Wednesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. which is being held in the school music room this time as the PUD will be coming to discuss the proposed rate increase for the wastewater portion of our bills. Please come to the meeting and you can fill out a survey if you haven't already and turn it in then. Otherwise, you can still return it by mail to P.O. Box 37, Klickitat, Wash. 98628 or by dropping it off at the Klickitat High School office by Thursday, March 25.
We really need everyone's participation and cooperation as the results of this survey will be tallied and used to apply for additional grant money to help fund projects for our school and community. If you have questions or need more information, you can call Laurie Wilhite at the school at 369-4145. Thanks.
