The Avenue Gallery, located on the main street in Stevenson, is hosting its Second Friday featured artists' reception on May 14 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The artists who will be featured for the month are Honna Sheffield, a potter from Stevenson, and Darryl Lloyd of Long Shadow Photography in Hood River.
The Avenue Gallery is proud to represent these two local artists and would like to encourage the public to come in and see their work. The show will be on exhibit through June 10.
On the third Friday of each month at 7 p.m, the Gallery will be hosting an author or poet. Coffee and cookies will be served.
Our next reading on May 21 will be Captain Dean Nichols who grew up on the Columbia River and was a tugboat captain during the era between the grand old sternwheelers and the multi-thousand horsepower tugs of today. Currently he and his wife, Ramona, live in Winchester, Ore.
In June, the Gallery will feature Mary Schlick from Mt. Hood, Oregon, who will speak about her basketry book in addition to a new one yet to be published. She will also have some of her baskets here.
