Report for Skamania County Sheriff's Office

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on May 24, 2004, the Skamania County Sheriff's Office and Skamania EMS responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a train on the Burlington Northern tracks at the mouth of the Wind River.

Responding agencies discovered 36-year-old Severiano "Chico" Rodriquez deceased at the scene from multiple injuries.

Rodriquez was from the Yakima area on a fishing trip with friends.

The incident is being investigated by the Skamania County Sheriff's Office and Burlington Northern Police.

At approximately 9:55 a.m. on May 24, 2004, the Skamania County Sheriff's Office, Skamania County Dive Team, Skamania EMS, Carson Fire District 1 and Wind River Search and Rescue responded to a report of a drowning victim at approximately milepost 7.2 on the Wind River.

Responding agencies recovered the body of 57-year-old Tommie Holt of Federal Way.

Holt was climbing a bank with his fishing gear, lost his footing and fell approximately 15 feet head first into the water, striking his head on submerged rocks.

Holt was recovered approximately two hours later from the swift water by the Skamania County Sheriff's Office Dive Team.

The incident is being investigated by the Skamania County Sheriff's Office.
