Eastern Star serves annual turkey dinner

Dinner served for over 52 years

The Order of Eastern Star, Evergreen Chapter No. 1 is serving its traditional turkey dinner on Nov. 7, from noon to 3 p.m.

Eastern Star has held this annual turkey dinner for over 52 years. Originally all the food was cooked in the ladies homes and then taken to the Masonic Hall. The potatoes were cooked and mashed at the old Hall Hotel. The dinner has always been served the first Sunday in November. Many out of towners put it on their calendars year after year.

Evergreen Chapter is the oldest Chapter in the state of Washington at 106 years of age. The hall was built in the early 1900s in the Craftsman style.

Now the whole turkeys, stuffing and, real mashed potatoes are prepared at the Masonic Hall, and all the pies are home made. Enjoy a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings while visiting with many friends and neighbors.

Plan to attend church then bring the family to dinner or just plan a family outing

The cost of this dinner is only $7.50 for adults and children under 12 years are $3.50.

The money raised is used to support the Chapter and its efforts toward the cancer fund, heart fund and local scholarships.
