Minor injuries resulted from a two-vehicle accident on Oct. 26, 2004, at approximately 4:50 p.m.
The accident occurred on State Route 14 at milepost 142.8, eight miles east of Roosevelt.
According to the report, 1 1992 Honda driven by Cesar Castaneda, 20, Hillsboro, Ore., was westbound on SR 14 trying to pass another vehicle. A second vehicle, a 1999 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by Matthew D. Perry, 34, Spokane, was eastbound and was struck in the front by the Honda.
The Honda was thrown from the roadway and became fully engulfed in flames. The Kenworth flipped over onto its top off the road.
Castaneda, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles for minor injuries.
Perry was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Castaneda will be cited for unsafe passing and no insurance.
Two Goldendale men were involved in a two-vehicle accident on SR 97 on Oct. 26, 2004, at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The accident occurred at milepost eight.
According to the report, a 1996 Ford flatbed truck pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with porta potties, driven by Robert L. Allan, 28, Goldendale, was northbound on SR 97. The trailer started to oscillate from left to right and separated from the truck, crossing over the centerline into the southbound lane. A 2000 Pontiac, driven by Jimmie W. Selle, 54, Goldendale, was southbound and collided with the runaway trailer in the southbound lane. The trailer traveled off the east side of the road, coming to rest in a field and losing its load. The truck came to rest on the centerline of the highway, facing east.
Selle was transported by ambulance to Klickitat Valley Hospital with bumps and bruises. Allan suffered no injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
A Goldendale woman was taken by Life Flight to Emanuel Hospital in Portland, following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on SR 97 near milepost 15.
According to the report, a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Bobby L. Hunt, 38, Goldendale, was northbound on SR 97, preparing to turn left at an intersection and yielding for oncoming traffic. A second vehicle, a 1990 Jeep Cherokee driven by Maria L. Bosley, 75, Goldendale, was also northbound. Bosley's vehicle rear-ended the Caprice.
The collision is still under investigation.
Bosley, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was taken by Life Flight, suffering from neck and chest injuries.
Hunt, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale with neck and back injuries.
