Report for Washington State Patrol

Shawn A. Allinger, 42, Carson, was transported to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon with bruises to his left leg and both arms.

According to the report, Allinger was eastbound on State Route 14, when his vehicle -- a 1998 Geo Metro -- crossed the center line. The vehicle went off the north side of the roadway, entering a drainage ditch and striking a culvert.

The accident occurred on Oct. 18, 2004, at approximately 5:05 a.m. near milepost 43.

A broken ankle was the only injury reported in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Oct. 17, 2004, at approximately 7:40 p.m. on SR 97, five miles north of Goldendale.

According to the report, Joel Mitchell, 37, Prosser, was driving his 1988 Chevrolet pickup northbound on SR 97. A second vehicle -- a 1993 Dodge Caravan driven by Jose Garcia-Valdivia, 43, Quincy -- was traveling behind Mitchell. Mitchell slowed his vehicle, pulled onto the shoulder and attempted to make a U-turn, failing to yield to northbound traffic. The Caravan collided with the truck.

Neither Mitchell nor Garcia-Valdivia were injured. A passenger in Garcia-Valdivia's vehicle -- 31-year-old Julio Arroyo of Quincy -- suffered a broken right ankle and was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital.

All three were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

A DUI citation was issued following a two-vehicle accident on Oct. 15, 2004. The accident occurred on SR 14 at milepost 81.9 (in Lyle).

According to the report, Dwight A. Kipp, 48, Murdock, had stopped his vehicle -- a 1981 Ford pickup) at the 76 Station -- and was attempting to cross SR 14. A second vehicle -- driven by 25-year-old Kaci S. Thornton of Lyle -- was eastbound on SR 14, approaching the 76 Station.

The driver's side of Kipp's vehicle and the front end of Thornton's vehicle collided in the eastbound lane. Thornton's 2004 Honda Civic went under the side of the pickup, causing the pickup to roll over onto the passenger side in the westbound lane.

Kipp was cited for DUI. He was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles for two fractured ribs. Thornton suffered minor cuts and bruises and was also taken to MCMC in The Dalles.
