Zuck earns merit scholarship

Homeschooled graduate Tyler Zuck, son of Greg and Linda Zuck of White Salmon, is one of several freshman that has been awarded Whitworth College's highest academic merit scholarship, the Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship.

Whitworth's criteria for this scholarship is that the applicant rank first or second in their graduating class and also score at least a 1300 on the combined SAT I or a 28 on a composite ACT.

Zuck graduated from high school last spring, after having completed independent studies in Costa Rica and volunteer work at the Monteverde Rain Forest Preserve.

Zuck starts freshman classes this fall term at Whitworth College in Spokane, where additionally, he was awarded an Enhanced Merit Scholarship and a Presbyterian Leaders Scholarship.
