Road under repair

Forest Road 42 closes for four weeks

Forest Road 42 northwest of Carson closed Wednesday, just east of Cougar Rock, for repairs that will take four weeks to complete.

According to Gifford Pinchot National Forest officials, the work will consist of removing culverts that pose fish passage barriers and construction of a bridge over Trout Creek.

Repairs are expected to be completed by early October. No detours will be available or signed.

Visitors planning to travel east to west through the forest can still use Forest Roads 54, 43, 41, 90, Curly Creek and the Wind River Highway.
