Hood River Hops celebrates the harvest season by showcasing outstanding and unique Northwest beers.
Hood River Hops will showcase 18 Breweries, four Wineries, a Hard Apple Cider and tasty Rootbeers from four different makers.
The festival will be held Oct. 2 and will be FREE and fun for the whole family.
The event is located on the corner of Cascade and Fifth Streets, and will run from noon to 9 p.m.
There will be live music from the hot soulful blues of the Rose City Kings to Bavarian Umpah, by the Alpine Echoes and the Dieder Nachman Band. Also enjoy the unique surf style music of the Johny Lux Band.
The Downtown 4th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest will be held in conjunction with the Brewfest from 2 to 5 p.m. Registration for the contest will be at the event, next to the G. Williker's Toy Shoppe, Kids Play area. All ages are invited to participate.
Face Painting, Balloon Art, Kids Play area with train tables, games and puzzles, a Laser Light Show, and booths featuring a variety of regional arts and crafts will add to the festivities.
A range of Food Vendors will be available to supply a selection of tastes.
This is the only festival in Oregon where you can enjoy over 35 of these special seasonal beers. The choices range from the Ayinger Ocktoberfest from Germany to "over the top" hop ales that include more than 6 varieties of hops. There is something for everyone with styles ranging from pilsners, to a smoked Ocktoberfest and even a creamy milk stout.
Hood River Hops is presented by the Hood River Downtown Business Association and the City of Hood River.
