Three seek school board spot

Interviews take place on April 12

Three residents of the lower White Salmon River valley are the candidates for an empty seat on the White Salmon Valley School Board of Directors.

Craig Ferguson, Kris Kreps and Dan Rawding were the only applicants for the Husum- and BZ Corner-area position, which has been vacant since Eric Shrum resigned in February.

Shrum had to quit the board because he was moving out of the district.

Ferguson, Kreps and Rawding will be interviewed by the school board on Tuesday, April 12, starting at 6 p.m., in the school district office.

A decision is expected that night.

Whoever is appointed to fill the opening will serve out the remainder of an unexpired four-year term, which ends this year. An open election for the seat will be held this fall.
