Congratulations to 2002 GHS graduate Jenna Dean. After recently setting a school record for Washington State University in the javelin throw, she continued in her winning ways at the Cougar track meet in Pullman on April 2. Jenna threw the javelin for 159-2 for the win in her event at the Coug's meet. Jenna is the daughter of Jerry and Mary Dean.

The Glenwood High School track team, under the leadership of Coach Tom Eldred, enjoyed the sweet taste of victory at track meets this past week. At the Evergreen High School meet in Vancouver on Thursday, Samantha Sutterlict won the javelin throw, Tony Leiter won the pole vault, and Mitch Wheelhouse won both the discus and shot put contests. Devin Dean achieved a personal best in the javelin throw of 137-0. In Goldendale on Saturday, Glenwood continued to dominate in the discus throw with Mitch Wheelhouse winning the event and Tanner Beeks placing second. Mitch also came out with the longest throw in the shot put competition, while Tony Leiter took the win in the pole vault event. Congratulations team, and best wishes as you finish up your spring vacations at a track meet in Umatilla, Ore. on April 9.

Plan to attend the Superintendent Search Community Meeting at the school on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room. The school board will be holding the meeting to inform the community about the search for the superintendent/principal. The board also seeks input from residents regarding qualities and qualifications that they would like to see in the new administrator.

The next Glenwood Homemakers meeting will be at Terry Arnold's home on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 p.m.
