The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center invites the public to meet the Raptors of the Gorge, presented by Chris Tolotti of Wildlife Rescue of the Gorge (WRG), Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m.
As part of WRG's community education outreach, Tolotti will present live birds to the audience, describing their habits and habitat.
WRG is operated by individuals like Tolotti, dedicated to preserving and increasing the community appreciation of our natural resources. WRG rehabilitates injured and orphaned birds and other wildlife.
Releasing a healthy animal capable of surviving in its natural habitat is perhaps the most rewarding aspect of wildlife rehabilitation and the ultimate goal. WRG has successfully released many species including chipmunks, great horned owls, screech owls, fawns, coyote pups, red tail hawks and others.
