Ridgefield scored on a backdoor cut to take a two-point lead with 1:28 remaining on their way to a 49-44 victory over Columbia High in junior varsity boys basketball action here last Thursday.
The Junior Bruins (7-5) got a three-point play by Nicholas Reeves with 3:17 to go to claim their last lead of the seesaw battle, 44-42.
CHS owned a 23-20 advantage at halftime but trailed 34-33 entering the final period.
However, the Junior Bruins quickly regained the upperhand on a 3-point basket by Jared McDonald. They held it for more than four minutes before Ridgefield countered with a 3-ball of its own for a 42-41 edge.
The Spudniks sewed up the win with a pair of free throws with 13 seconds to play.
