Jungle Book performance swings on Saturday

Showtimes are at 3 and 7 p.m.

Hey, no monkeyin' around. This Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Park Center in White Salmon at 3 and 7 p.m., join your favorite bunch of Jungle Book characters as they try to catch a tiger by the tail when the Missoula Children's Theatre and more than 50 local students present an original musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic.

The local cast of The Jungle Book includes Louy Lerebourg as Mowgli (the man-cub), as well as Quinn Allen as Bagheera (the panther).

Seth Bell is Akela, leader of the pack, and Britni Delehant, Milla Caldwell, Kierstyn Kempton, Nick Mosbrucker, James Cruse, Michelle McMillen and Kady McCoy make up the wolf pack, and wolf family includes Claire Stevenson, Tate Peterson, Leondardo Torres, Che Horn, Dorian Sandoval and Cayenne Ellis. Lisl Stadler is featured as Shere Khan and William Hindahl plays his sidekick Tabaqui (the jackal). Nag and Nagaina (the cobras) are Victoria Hankin and Dalton Wake. Darzee (the bird) is played by Sarah Ellsworth, Nathan Bell is featured as Hathi (the master elephant) and Joshua Bell performs the role of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi (the mongoose).

Other featured performers include Paige Stevenson as Kaa (the rock python) and Scott Steele as Buck (a buck). The snakes are Gracen Bookmyer, Noah Wilson, Emaline Ellsworth, Ian Kempton, Isabel Martin, Jocelyn Torres, Noah Estes and Maria Stadler.

Monkeyin' around throughout the entire show are the Monkey-People, played by Rylee Gross Hogberg, Colette Bookmyer, Maks Moses, JD Cox, Donovan Grimes, Alexis Tibke, Kyzlen Stein, Lauren Thiesies, Sidra Matthias, Stacia Bell, Abby Dennis, Morgan Graves, Sadie Hipskind, Emily Placensia, Tristan Cox, Drake Wheeler, Kyana Klineline and Tylan Webster.

Kellyn McCutcheon, Sarah Brending, Brittany Aker, Lucy Andresen, Ashlynn Campbell and Tobin McCormick have served as assistant directors all week.

Tickets for the performance are $2 for students and $3 for adults and are available at Henkle Middle School and at the door.
