Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association's next "All Outdoor Recreation Gear Swap Meet" takes place this Sunday, July 31, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Hood River Expo west parking lot on Portway Avenue.
This is a great opportunity to recycle all that old outdoor recreation gear that's been taking up much needed space in your garage or basement, and to make money to buy new stuff.
Sellers pay only $10 per vehicle and buyers get in free. Early seller set-up is 7 a.m.; the lot opens to buyers at 8.
Event organizers and originators Bud and Vel Budworth suggest that--if you don't feel like sitting there all morning, and swap meets just aren't your thing--you donate your windsurfing gear to CGWA for a deductible nonprofit donation. Donated equipment can be left at Windance Sailboards in Hood River (please let them know it's for CGWA), or bring it to the swap meet site before 9 a.m. on the day of the swap meet.
The next and last swap meet for the year is Sunday, Sept. 4 of Labor Day weekend.
Fundraising proceeds go to CGWA's programs to improve and maintain recreational access to the Columbia River, with a diversity of sites for water-related recreational sports stretching over 300 miles in both Oregon and Washington.
