Columbia baccalaureate service set for June 8

Message to be delivered by Laura Kennedy

The Columbia High School graduating class of 2005 will be holding its Baccalaureate Service in Miller gym on June 8 at 7 p.m.

The Baccalaureate Committee which consists of a few members of the graduating class of 2005 and two local ministry associations -- Mt. Adams Ministerial Associates and the Evangelical Pastors' Association -- invite the public to come and be encouraged by the inspiring message that will be shared by Laura Kennedy.

Kennedy was awarded the elementary education student of the year from Southwestern College in Phoenix, Ariz. She also cut a worship CD that year and was named as Who's Who among American Colleges and Universities. Kennedy has spent the last two years as a counselor, chaplain and worship leader at internationally known Morrison Academy in Taiwan.

She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Christian formation and ministry from Wheaton Graduate School in Illinois.

Along with Kennedy leading worship, the Christian Rock Band Dark Horizon will be playing a few musical numbers.
