Adi Robertson, a junior at Trout Lake High School, has been awarded a full scholarship to the 2005 Telluride Association Summer Program, "War and Terror: Ethical, Legal and Historical Perspectives," at Cornell University.
This year, Telluride is co-sponsoring five programs, two with Cornell, one with the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, one with the University of Texas at Austin, and one with Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
These six-week-long educational programs involve college-level seminars for gifted and highly motivated high school juniors.
Admission to the Telluride summer program is highly selective, according to administrative director Ellen Baer.
This summer's 86 participants were chosen from 866 applications from all parts of the United States and abroad. The program solicits applications from high scorers on the Educational Testing Service's PSAT and receives recommendations of potential applicants from school personnel.
Telluride Association is an independent, not-for-profit educational organization that has offered summer programs to high school juniors of exceptional promise since 1954.
