Report from Klickitat County Sheriff's Office

On Feb. 25, officials from the Klickitat County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 30 Catherine Creek Road.

Inside the residence, officers found approximately 220 suspected marijuana plants in a bedroom. There was also suspected methamphetamine and marijuana located at the residence as well as several guns.

Arrested at the residence was 62-year-old William Lindsay Hazard. Seized from the residence was a 1993 Ford F-250 truck, a 1989 Toyota MR2 and $2750 in cash.

In another case the Sheriff's Office working with the Mid-Interagency Narcotics Task Force was able to arrest a suspected methamphetamine dealer who was believed to be selling large quantities of methamphetamine in Bingen and White Salmon. The sheriff's office received information that Juan Carlos Alonso Sanchez was dealing with larger quantities of methamphetamine to several subjects in Bingen and White Salmon.

The sheriff's office and MINT were able to introduce an undercover deputy to Sanchez. Sanchez sold a half of an ounce of suspected methamphetamine to an undercover deputy at the Home Depot in The Dalles. After the deal Sanchez agreed to sell a couple of grams of suspected cocaine to the deputy sheriff. This transaction was made in the parking lot in Mosier. After this deal the agreement was made for Sanchez to sell a pound of methamphetamine to the undercover deputy.

On Feb. 16 Sanchez made the delivery to the undercover deputy in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Hood River and was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

The undercover deputy had to pay $9000 for the pound of suspected methamphetamine. An additional 5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine was located in Sanchez's vehicle.

On Feb. 19, a sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle in Dallesport. On contacting the driver, identified as Daniel Joseph Sauter, the deputy saw a plastic baggy of suspected methamphetamine on the seat. Sauter was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

On an inventory of the vehicle the deputy noticed parts of a suspected methamphetamine laboratory in the bed of the truck.
