It's another 'first' in Hood River

High School band to play downtown

On Friday, Nov. 4, downtown Hood River will be the venue featuring the diverse works of regional artists and a variety of performers entertaining throughout the downtown area.

A few of the artists to look for this month include Jayne Allen (pottery), Mark Nilsson (acrylics & mixed media), Gigi (oils and pastels), Judith Cunningham Studio (pastels), Urban Revolution Wear by MBC, Sheila Ford Richmond (hand dyed scarves & art cards), Heidi McLennon (oil paintings), Darryl Lloyd of Longshadow Photography, Designs by Ken Apland & Kevin Craig, Charlene Rivers (oil paintings), Susanne Lorenzi (floral art), Kathy Sneider & Heather Blem (original creations), pottery, jewelry, metal art, watercolors, hand crafted furniture, aromatherapy at Made in the Gorge Artists' Cooperative, Barbara Murphy, After School Program pumpkin decorations, Jules Frazier (photography), and Sarah Noassif of Rectangle Designs.

The Columbia Art Gallery show this month is titled Furnishings II and features fine furniture and oil paintings by Cathleen Rehfeld. Also highlighted are Dave Swann and Fred Paxson. Both produce fine, one-of-a-kind wood furniture.

Music samplings include Music by All Jazzed Up, Connie Dunnington, Columbia High School Jazz Band, Stacey Board, and Ernie Birney & Terry Wake.

Join the 5th Annual Chalk Art Contest awards, 6 p.m. inside Oak Street Mall, 416 Oak Street. The contest was held Oct. 8 during Hops Fest.
