The Klickitat County Planning Department is considering a "shoreline substantial development" application designed to improve the public water supply in Husum.
The project under considering would connect Husum to the Fordyce Water Association's system.
The applicant is the Husum Water Association, Joy Olson, president.
"The purpose of the project is to improve the existing Husum Water Association system that does not meet safety and reliability standards as required for a public water system," read a portion of the application.
In an effort to upgrade the water infrastructure in the Husum area, the Husum Water Association (HWA) proposes to "install approximately one mile of eight-inch water main from the existing Fordyce Water Association reservoir to the HWA including side services, meters, hydrants, pressure reducing facilities, and two bridge crossings," the application read.
Written comments relating to the shoreline substantial development application can be submitted to the Planning Department until Nov. 15.
The proposal is scheduled to go before the Klickitat County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 22.
