The results have been tallied, and it seems that Glenwood's 4-Hers made quite a showing at the Klickitat County Fair in August. The Mt. Adams 4-H Club had 31 members who entered projects at this year's fair. For those entering projects, 11 were awarded white ribbons, 26 won red ribbons, and 134 earned blue ribbons. There was one Judge's choice, seven reserve champions and six grand champions, in addition to the coveted overall herdsmanship award. Way to go, everyone! Remember the year-end swim, pizza party and awards presentations will be held at the Hood River swimming pool on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. To make your reservation contact Kay Pratt at 364-3646 before Oct. 17.
Get your tastebuds geared up for the annual cemetery benefit dinner on Sunday, Oct. 16. Dinner will be served from noon to 3 p.m. at the school cafeteria. There are several special couples who have recently celebrated their golden (50th) wedding anniversaries. Congratulations to Tom and Bobbi Burns, Harry and Lois Dechand, and Steve and Kay Hoodenpyl on reaching this magnificent milestone. You are all a good example to the rest of us who are only partway there.
Our friend and neighbor, Claudette Gahimer, recently underwent surgery and we wish her a speedy and complete recovery.
Remember the ASB rummage sale at the school on Saturday, Oct. 15, beginning at 7 a.m. Plan to arrive early in order to get first chance at buying those treasures. If you have items you would like to donate to the sale, deliver them to the school by Oct. 13.
