Wow, what a great turkey dinner the Cemetery District served. A big crowd turned out for the annual event that featured good home-cooking and a nice chance to visit with friends and neighbors. Out-of-town guests were treated to a wonderful meal as well as the beautiful fall colors on the trip to Glenwood. Thanks everyone for your support of the cemetery benefit dinner.
Thank you to the community for donating items as well as for shopping at the ASB rummage sale held at the school on Oct. 15. Nearly $400 was raised through that fundraiser.
The community is invited to a baby shower in honor of Sarah LaVallie at the grange hall on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. Sarah is expecting a little girl early next month, so help her prepare for the baby's arrival.
Also on the agenda for Saturday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. is the Mt. Adams 4-H swim party at the Hood River swimming pool. Around 3 p.m., pizza will be served and awards and pins for this year's recipients will be presented.
We hope Lonnie Dean is feeling better real soon.
Safety tip of the week: Remember to install new batteries in your smoke alarms each year.
