Grange to host open house

Glenwood News for April 6

By the

The 116-year-old Glenwood Grange #94 will host an open house meeting April 11, at the grange hall to celebrate the nationwide Grange Month. It will start with a noon potluck, followed with the presentation of 25-year membership certificates to Lori Walker, Renea Campbell and Helen Blair; and a 40-year membership seal going to Ted Kuhnhausen. Howard Wellenbrock received his 40 year seal at the recent benefit dinner.

Speaker Ron Zaremba, from the SHIBA (Statewide Volunteer Health Insurance Benefit Advisors), will answer questions to guide anyone through the complexities of the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage program.

It's time to make that big decision on which plan to get with the May 15 deadline looming. Current beneficiaries need to sign up for a drug plan to avoid a late penalty. Mark your calendars with these dates.

Kristin (Scott) Wilson and her soon-to-be-born baby girl Katherine Diane were honored with a baby shower on March 25. Family and friends enjoyed an afternoon of visiting and showered Kristin with gifts to prepare her for the baby's arrival.

Congratulations to John Jorgensen on his recent engagement to Tina Deitz of Hood River. The couple is planning a July 1 wedding. We look forward to Tina being a part of our community.

Wishes for a speedy recovery are extended to Sue (Gimlin) Williams after her surgery last week.
