The Cherry Festival Parade on Saturday, April 22, in The Dalles, will be sporting a local girl as "Little Miss Royal Ann." Five-year-old Becky is the daughter of Jeremy and Jaci Fink. You all may know her father from the Tesoro station in Lyle. Becky's photo, along with all the others who competed, was displayed in J.C. Penney's window and the public's vote determined the winner. Becky and her escort "Little Mr. Royal Andy" will be riding the Coronation float which is sponsored by the radio station Q-104.
Mark you calendars for Saturday April 15 -- at 9 a.m, Lyle's Annual Easter egg hunt is at the Lyle Park Place. The Lewis and Clark re-enactors will be present and The Lyle Historical Society will have the Museum open for visitors after the Easter egg hunt.

Linda Dono of Gannett News Service Washington D.C., publishers of USA TODAY, and other newspapers around the country, contacted Joy Collins and Mary Ann Cook of Lyle. Dono was compiling information for a list of miles of yard sales events.
Collins provided information on the history and organization of the event and Cook provided a summary of the plans for disseminating information designed to bring tourists to Klickitat County. This local Extravaganza has now reached the "big time!"
