Kindergarten students can register for 2006-07 year

Open house planned for May 8

Whitson Elementary School will hold a "Parent Night" for the incoming 2006-07 kindergarten students on Monday, May 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Whitson Elementary library.

Information on the Kindergarten Program and registration will be available. Teachers and support staff will also share information about next year's program.

Any child who is 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2006 is eligible for kindergarten.

Parents will be able to completely register their child for the 2006-07 kindergarten program. Parents and children will also meet staff from the school, learn about the curriculum, transportation and other information.

Parents need to bring their children's birth certificate, immunization record and photograph.

There are also Washington State immunization requirements for entering kindergarten students: DTP (4-to-5 doses, last one after 4th birthday), polio (3 doses, last one on or after 4th birthday), MMR (2 doses, one given at or after 12 months of age), hepatitis B (3 doses).
