A 71-year-old Renton man died in a two-vehicle accident on Friday, April 15, 2006.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. at milepost 11, one mile south of Goldendale, on State Route 97.
According to the report, Robert H. Hartman, 71, was driving his 1993 Ford Taurus stationwagon southbound on SR 97. Steven L. Johnson, 47, Goldendale, was driving his 2005 Chevrolet pickup with a 16-foot trailer northbound on SR 97.
Hartman's vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the pickup head-on in the northbound lane.
Hartman had internal and severe leg injuries and died at the scene.
Johnson suffered a right leg injury and was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital by ambulance.
The accident, which blocked the northbound lane for approximately three hours, is still under investigation.
A 26-year-old Carson woman was transported to Skyline Hospital with cuts and scrapes following a one-vehicle accident on April 12 at approximately 7 a.m.
The accident occurred at milepost 30 on SR 14, three miles west of Skamania.
According to the report, Salina M. Limones was westbound on SR 14, driving her 2003 Ford Explorer. The vehicle left the roadway to the right in a curve, entered the ditch, flipped and rolled. The vehicle came to rest on its top in the ditch.
