At approximately 9:40 a.m. a Klickitat County Sheriff's sergeant spotted a vehicle associated with a suspended driver who also had warrants for his arrest.
As the sergeant was about to stop the vehicle in the area of Hanging Rock Road and Orchard Heights Road, the vehicle headed east at a high rate of speed.
The sergeant began to pursue the vehicle which reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle came to a stop in the area of 250 Hanging Rock Road, at which point the passenger fled the vehicle.
The pursuing officer was able to visually identify the fleeing suspect as being wanted for violent offenses in the Klickitat County area. Officers from Goldendale Police Department and Washington State Patrol responded to the scene and assisted in the attempt to apprehend the passenger.
Taken into custody at the scene was the driver -- William S. Davis, 29, The Dalles. Davis was booked into the Klickitat County Jail on charges of attempt to elude a police vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of firearm, possession of stolen firearm, rendering criminal assistance, and driving while suspended.
The passenger of the vehicle remains at large and is being sought by law enforcement.
