Democrats to caucus on March 4

Meeting planned for White Salmon

Democrats from 29 precincts in Klickitat County will caucus next Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m. to elect delegates to the county convention and draft resolutions for the county platform.

"Klickitat County Democrats are energized and ready for this year's caucus," said White Salmon precinct committee officer John Mayo. "People are excited to have a forum to express their values."

All county precincts will caucus at the Pioneer Center in White Salmon.

State party organizers, following on the 2004 record turnout, expect to see large numbers of attendees once again.

Voter registration tables and Spanish-speaking translators will be available at the caucus site. Only registered voters in the precinct may vote and must declare themselves a Democrat by signing in. A 17-year-old who will be eligible to vote on Nov. 7, 2006, is considered a registered voter for the caucus.
