Flume to be dedicated

Ceremony begins at noon on Sunday

The interpretive sign for the recently refurbished flume section, located in Daubenspeck Park in Bingen, has arrived.

The sign is to be installed in time for the dedication scheduled for Sunday, June 18, at 12 noon.

Former employees have been invited and the public is encouraged to attend the ceremony where short speeches will be offered, as well as entertainment.

A reception will follow at the Gorge Heritage Museum building at 202 Humboldt St., Bingen.

The relocation of the flume and its dedication has been a cooperative effort with the West Klickitat County Historical Society, SDS Lumber, Broughton Lumber, Bingen City Council, and the Boy Scouts.
