Snowflakes made of salmon, a Christmas tree, and a glowing star. With the holiday season here again, those are the highlights of a colorful blue poster now appearing in windows all around downtown White Salmon.
The posters, featuring the artwork of White Salmon's Taina Hartman, announce the arrival of the second annual "I'm Dreaming of a White Salmon" holiday festival. The wonderful event, the brainchild of the White Salmon Arts Council, is set for Saturday, Dec. 2, from 12-6 p.m.
If it's anything like last year's event, this upcoming festival will be something citizens can look forward to with enthusiasm. The festival brings in shoppers from across the river -- always welcome -- and provides some valuable exposure for White Salmon's merchants. It's also a convenient time for area residents to do their Christmas shopping.
Several local sponsors have stepped up to help fund the festival, including: SDS Lumber Co., Amerititle, Columbia River Bank, Riverview Community Bank, Greg Colt Realty, Pacific Rim Brokers, Windermere Glen Taylor Real Estate, and Embarq. Their contributions to this festival are greatly appreciated.
"I'm Dreaming of a White Salmon" is a true celebration of our community, the arts, and our unique downtown merchants. Coming as it does in December, there is a festive atmosphere all though the town, capped off by the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m.
This event is a positive showcase of our community, as well as just a ton of fun. Maybe if we're lucky there will even be some real snowflakes falling, to add to the holiday spirit.
Don't miss it!
