Chamber hires operations manager, launches its new intern program

Changes at Mt. Adams Chamber of Commerce

Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce, a local organization created to support the business community with advocacy, networking and economic growth, announced the hire of Janie Escamilla as the new operations manager and Samantha Bakke as the new intern.

Prior to joining Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce, Escamilla co-founded BlueSpark Communications, a virtual public relations agency servicing the high-tech industry both nationally and internationally.

In addition, Escamilla has worked at companies such as Edelman and The Hoffman Agency representing various clients, including Microsoft and Verisign.

In her latest role at the chamber, Escamilla will be leading all operations efforts including, the development of a business plan; fund raising; new business development; and partnership and the implementation of a new Chamber website as well as supporting member services, tourism and marketing efforts.

Bakke joins us from Columbia High School in White Salmon where she is completing her senior year and preparing for graduation. During the week, Bakke will offer administrative support to various chamber projects and events, including the annual awards dinner; the weekly newsletter; nominee committee and business after hours.

"We are excited to have Janie and Samantha on board," said Carl McNew, chamber president and associate broker/branch manager of Windermere/Glenn Taylor Real Estate. "Both Janie's and Samantha's unique skill sets and experience will greatly benefit our members and support the continued growth of the Chamber."

The Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce also added Marsha Frost-Holliston last year to oversee and lead as service manager. Frost-Holliston has over 30 years committed to this community and previously, she worked at Advanced Navigation in Hood River as their configuration manager.

"Our goal is to have 200 members by the end of the year and we are well on our way with 190 and counting," said Frost-Holliston, newly appointed service manager for the chamber.
