A Columbia City, Ore., driver was transported to Hood River hospital following a one-vehicle accident on Sunday, Sept. 10.

The accident occurred at milepost 9, one mile north of Husum, on State Route 141 at approximately 11:15 a.m.

According to the report, Sandra R. Rockwood, 54, was traveling northbound on SR 141, driving a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle. The vehicle in front of the motorcycle was stopped to turn left. Rockwood attempted to stop her motorcycle. She braked, skidded and fell onto the bike.

Rockwood suffered a fractured left knee.

She is being cited for negligent driving.

A Washougal man suffered possible lower extremity paralysis following a one-vehicle accident on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at approximately 2 a.m.

The accident occurred at milepost 26 on SR 14, 17 miles east of Vancouver.

According to the report, Lucas A. Halvorson, 20, was eastbound on SR 14, rounding a curve to the right. Halvorson failed to negotiate the curve with his 1981 Toyota pickup, crossing the centerline. Halvorson attempted to correct his steering, instigating a counter clockwise rotation and causing his vehicle to roll over. The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side on the westbound shoulder.

Halvorson was trapped in the vehicle until extricated by Skamania County rescue units and transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center.

The westbound lane of SR 14 was blocked by aid vehicles for one hour.

Halvorson was cited for DUI.

Bobby E. Doten, 55, Yakima, suffered cuts and bruises following a one-vehicle accident on Sept. 9 at approximately 1 a.m.

The accident occurred on SR 97 at milepost 23.5, 11 miles north of Goldendale.

According to the report, Doten was northbound on SR 97 driving a 1987 Freightliner with empty trailer. The vehicle swerved to avoid a deer and went off the southbound shoulder. The vehicle jackknifed, coming to rest off the west side of the roadway.

The road was blocked for a short time for removal of the vehicle.

Doten was transported to Toppenish Hospital.
