Klickitat man's body found in Klickitat River

Cause of death is suspicious

On the afternoon of April 21, Klickitat County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue volunteers located a body in the Klickitat River near milepost 10 on State Route 142.

The body was tentatively identified as that of 21-year-old Sean Brown of Klickitat.

On the night of April 19, the Klickitat County Sheriff's Office had been contacted by family members of Brown. The family reported that he had not been seen for several days, and his whereabouts were unknown.

The KCSO Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death in conjunction with the Coroner's Office. The cause and manner of death has not been determined; however, the death is considered suspicious. An autopsy was scheduled for April 23, and the autopsy results are pending.

Brown was last seen in the Klickitat area on April 6, and may have been involved in some type of altercation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call KCSO Det. Steve Shields at (509) 773-4545.
