Klickitat County Celebrates 64th Annual Fair, Rodeo

Action begins in Goldendale on Aug. 22

A year of planning for the 2007 Klickitat County Fair and Rodeo will be put to the test Aug. 22-26, during the 64th annual affair at the county fairgrounds in Goldendale.

Presiding over this year's five-day gathering will be fair and rodeo queen Kelsey Kathleen Williams of Dallesport and honorary grand marshal (and longtime fair supporter) Craig Schuster of Goldendale.

The 2007 fair and rodeo--like the 63 events that have preceded them--will offer fair-goers plenty under the theme "Bushels, Bales and Animal Tails": exhibits and displays, carnival rides and games, food and conversation, animal-handling contests, family-oriented entertainment and two days of Northwest Professional Rodeo Association-sanctioned rodeo action.

Admission to the fairgrounds will cost adults (ages 13 and over) $6 per day or $12 for the season; senior citizens (62 and older), $5 or $10; and children (ages 6-12), $4 or $8. Children under 6 will get in free when accompanied by a paid adult.
