Viento, CHS host holiday tea

Will feature live music and traditional treats

Viento restaurant in Bingen is hosting a holiday tea, with the assistance of Columbia High School students.

The tea, on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m., will feature live Christmas music and traditional tea treats: tea sandwiches, cookies and cakes, as well as hot tea and hot cider. The students, members of the school's Future Business Leaders of America, will assist the Viento team in marketing, preparing, serving and cleaning up.

"This is a chance for students to learn about how a restaurant puts on an event, from start to finish," says Viento executive chef Kathy Watson.

"CHS art student Nicole Dunn painted the poster announcing the event. Next, students will spend most of Saturday and Sunday before the tea baking and cooking, and will set the dining room and serve. We think this will be fun and instructional for the students, and create a festive event for kids and parents," said Watson.

Proceeds from the tea will be donated to the students' club.

Reservations can be made by calling Viento at 493-0049.
