Report for Washington State Patrol



Three people were injured in a car/semi truck accident on State Route 14 at its intersection with SR 97, 10 miles south of Goldendale. The accident occurred on Dec. 21, 2007, at 3:05 p.m.

According to the report, Ashlynn C. Sohappy, 21, The Dalles, Ore., was driving a 1990 Mazda northbound on SR 97. Leonardo Garza, 45, Edinburgh, Texas, was driving a 2004 Peterbilt semi truck with trailer eastbound on SR 14. Sohappy attempted a left turn onto westbound SR 14. Her vehicle was struck in the left side by the semi.

Sohappy had only a shoulder belt, no lap belt and was ejected from her vehicle. She suffered a broken back and knee injury and was transport to Mid Columbia Medical Hospital in The Dalles.

Trinity R. Danzuka, 1, The Dalles, Ore., a passenger in the Sohappy vehicle, suffered a head injury. She was transported to MCMC in The Dalles and then airlifted to Emanuel Hospital in Portland. River Danzuka, 0, The Dalles, also a passenger in the Sohappy vehicle, suffered head and internal trauma. He was also transported to MCMC and then airlifted to Emanuel.

Garza was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation.
