Another successful Baked Potato Feed was sponsored by the LKW Youth Football Booster Club last Friday night at the Lyle and La Salle basketball game. The "Feed" was a sell-out and all proceeds will go toward the purchase of uniforms for the LKW team.

Spooky's in The Dalles was the destination and Sunday was the day set for the Sundowner's February meeting. Almost three dozen members of the RV Club, visitors and family members attended a combined dinner and a happy 73rd birthday to one of its members, Larry D. Sorensen. After the cake was served and well wishes all around members stayed behind to play cards and have their regular monthly meeting.

Lisa Conway reports that the Lyle Park Clean-up in early February was a success. About eight adults and eight kids turned out to pick up trash and debris, and take on the daunting task of removing puncturevine (goathead) seeds from the area. The group accomplished a lot. Many bags of garbage were removed. Barbara, Kevin, Chuck, and Linda tackled the puncturevine problem on the ball field with vim and vigor. They raked and scraped up as many of the little nasty goathead seeds as they could. While they estimate the amount of goathead seeds to be in the millions, they surely were able to pick up a few hundred thousand using their methods. And, while the ball field still appears covered in seeds, at least the efforts resulted in a full dumpster of debris going to the landfill, a clean looking ball field and an area that is now ready for the next stage of Puncturevine eradication. Look for Klickitat County Weed Control to be there this spring doing some initial herbicide spraying to help this project along as well as the school to be prepping the area for new grass seed. Another park cleanup will occur in early April. In April we will pick up more garbage, shovel dirt and remove the concrete rubble by the dumpster.

"How to Eat Fried Worms" is the next free movie on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at the high school multi-purpose room.

Churches in Lyle are United Methodist: 403 Klickitat St., and Lyle Celebration Center: 715 Washington St.

Peace starts with a smile.
